Spring Into Jazz Campaign

MATHIAS LATTIN @ is our 2nd #SpringIntoJazz feature!

Mathias is a 2020 graduate of Kinder HSPVA. He began studying guitar in 3rd grade at Parker ES and his grandmother soon introduced him to the music of B.B. King when he was 10. His love of the Blues was born!

Mathias attended the #SJW in 2013 as a breakout young musician, moving on to become a student volunteer in 2017. He started his own band, Untitled, in 2016, which featured as the Houston Blues Society’s Youth Showcase band at the International Blues Challenge in 2018. His first single, “Notice Me” was released in February 2020, streamlining his March 2020 debut song “Let’s Start Here.”

Currently, Mathias is a guitarist for the Keeshea Pratt Band and Tavia Brooks. The upcoming “The Bluesman” film will be his first feature film debut acting, performing, and singing as the legendary blues artist Robert Johnson.

#GiveToTheGroove Please support Mathias and his tireless efforts to live out his music dreams, by donating directly to Mathias via CashApp: $MathiasL1

Spring Into Jazz with Stuart Adams!

Let’s Spring Into Jazz with our 1st feature of the month, STUART ADAMS.

Stuart is currently a sophomore in the Jazz program at HSPVA. He started playing Trumpet in the 5th grade, attending the #SJW for 3 years. There, he found an increased interest in playing Jazz and was introduced to the music scene in Houston. Stuart now hopes to attend a conservatory for college, with an emphasis in music programming.

“Not only did SJW teach me to play Jazz, but they also taught me the business side of the industry, which led me to put a group together and start gigging around Houston.”

#GiveToTheGroove Please support Stuart and his tireless efforts to live out his music dreams, by donating directly to Stuart via CashApp: $stuartoadams

If you would like to donate to Stuart via other options, please contact the #JazzEd office at jazzed@jazzeducation.org
